We are very proud of the facilities that we have at Potton Middle, the facilities have been built to enhance the beautiful site in which the school is set. We have worked hard over the last year to improve them as much as we can and we are continuously updating and extending our facilities in all areas of the curriculum, however, it has become clear that the range of facilities that we have available are simply not apparent to many prospective parents, until they visit the school. The exterior of the school does not reflect the bright, welcoming environment that is evident when you step inside.
Our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils are taught a Primary Curriculum and they are based in their form rooms unless they are being taught by subject specialists in the subject areas detailed below. Our KS3 children move around the school more, to access a wider range of specialist teaching.
The School Building
The school is arranged over two floors and we currently have either two or three form classes in each year group. We have the following additional specialist facilities on our site:
- An ICT suite (updated in 2015)
- Separate Science Lab
- Specialist Art Room
- DT Room
- Full workshop
- Home Economics Room
- A fully equipped Music Room
- School Library
In addition to the wonderful spaces inside of the building, we are extremely lucky to have access to a huge amount of outdoor space which has been updated during this years summer holiday. Outside space now includes:
- Gym equipment
- Basketball courts and hoops
- A large court area with football goals and court markings for football, netball and basket ball. (MUGA)
- Social seating areas
- A separate 1 mile running track
- Individual colour coded games areas
Hopefully from this website you can see the resources and facilities we have to offer. Of course, we always encourage all prospective parents and pupils to visit the school in person. If you would like to arrange a visit you can contact us via the school office, a member of the school Senior Leadership Team will be happy to accompany you on a tour of our school site.
